Cancellation Policy

Low and Mid-Season Deposit and Cancellation

A deposit of the first night’s accommodation will confirm your reservation, the balance of the tariff is due on arrival.   A booking that has not been confirmed by a deposit being paid is not guaranteed.

If the booking is cancelled 7 days or more prior to the planned date of arrival, there will be a full refund of the deposit.  If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the planned arrival date, the first night’s accommodation will be forfeited.

Bookings can be moved subject to availability and managers discretion: whilst no booking fees will apply, date changes will be subject to availability and any difference in rate.  There are no refunds for early departure.  No refund applies to bookings made on a non-refundable promotional rate.

Peak Period / Special Events Deposit and Cancellation

A deposit of the first night’s accommodation will confirm your reservation, the balance of the tariff is due 7 days prior to arrival date – this payment is then non-refundable.  A booking that has not been confirmed by a deposit being paid is not guaranteed.

If the booking is cancelled 7 days or more prior to the planned date of arrival, the first nights’ accommodation will be forfeited.  If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the planned arrival date, there will be no refund.

Short Notice Bookings and Corporate Bookings

Where a booking is made less than 7 days prior to the planned arrival date, there will be no refund.  Bookings can be moved subject to availability and managers discretion; a $50 admin fee may apply.

In the event of a Corporate Direct Booking being cancelled within 24hrs of the planned arrival date or the guest is a no show the first night’s accommodation will be charged.

Third Party Bookings / Online Travel Agents

For guests who have booked through a travel agent, online booking platform or other third parties, please contact your booking provider directly for assistance.

All eligible refunds will only be made to the payment card provided at the time of booking.

Covid-19 Subclause

If you are travelling from an area declared a COVID-19 hotspot during the past 14 days you will not be permitted to enter Queensland. Approved entry into Queensland for all travelers is subject to completing and signing a Queensland Border Declaration Pass and undertaking to present for a COVID-19 test if you develop symptoms (health.gov.au).

Due to the continually changing state and federal government requirements in response to COVID-19 challenges, Shelly Bay Resort will assess all COVID-19 hotspot bookings depending on your arrival date into Queensland in the preceding 14 days. We may need to contact you to verify your arrival date into Queensland, we appreciate your understanding and patience with our Team during this time and look forward to sharing our beautiful region with you soon.

If Government-imposed travel or state/territory border restrictions prevent guests arriving to Shelly Bay Resort for their stay, please contact our reservations team as soon as possible.

Your options include:

  • Changing travel dates - subject to availability;
  • Placing your payment in credit against your name until you're ready to re-book at another time
